Vegetable Garden

I purchased chili peppers, strawberries and zinnias to start a container vegetable garden. I decided to placed them in the space next to the Smiths. It has always received a fair amount of sunlight. Later, I checked after lunch and discovered that the green peppers were completing in the shade. But I think the morning sun offers a fair amount of sunlight.

Cleopatra Red Canna

CARE: Full sun Watering - Keep soil evenly moist Average size - 4 to 5 ft. tall and 2 to 3 ft. wide

Pickle Plant

This beautiful small succulent is now flowering. Just little yellow flowers. It's originally from Africa. Scientific name is Delosperma Echinatum. CARE Light: Bright, indirect light is preferred, but the plant can tolerate a few hours of direct sunlight. Insufficient light can lead to leggy growth. Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Humidity: Delosperma echinatum prefers low humidity and does not require misting. Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C and 29°C). Protect from frost and temperatures below 50°F (10°C). Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix formulated for succulents or cacti. Fertilizing: Fertilize sparingly, using a cactus or succulent fertilizer, once every 2-3 months during the growing season (spring and summer). Do not fertilize during the fall and winter.

Carnation

I went to visit the garden I was to paint at for the Pence Gallery Garden Tour. The owner gave me this carnation.

Coral Bell Replanted

I had purchased this purple leaf plant from Davis Hardware and finally was able to replant it. I removed a daffodil plant, I think, to give the coral bell room to grow Coral Bell requires any kind of light. So here it will received a good amount of sun in the afternoon. It will bloom in midsummer. It's a good companion plant to the foxglove, geranium and hosta. I had grown geranium before. So maybe I'll get a geranium to plant near by. In the spring, I need to trim back the foliage once it blooms.
